With such extremely rapid growth of the industry, new compouds, derivates and uses of cannabis are constantly being discovered.
So what else is out there? Well in case you havent gone off the grid into some sort of wilderness, you’ve heard of CBD. It’s CBD everything and in case you haven’t given it a try, you REALLY should. The most recent newly discovered cannabinoid is THCP or Tetrahydrocannabiphorol. It was actually discovered by accident and since it was discovered in 2019, research has been slim. However, our studies show that THCP is thirty-three (33) times STRONGER than originial THC. Just the thought of a stronger cannabinoid than THC is enough to send the cannabis world into wild excitement.
How was it discovered and what are the effects? Here is what we know so far: THCP was discovered by accident by a bunch of Italian reseachers. Using advanced technology (mass-spectrometry and liquid chromatography) they were able to analyze the plant matter and THCP was found by chance. As previously mentioned in other articles, The Endocannabinoid System plays a vital role in our bodies by maintaining homestasis, meaning it keeps our body systems stable. The ECS sends each cannabinoid to specific cannabinoid receptors located throughout the body. Isnt the human body amazing?!
THCP IS naturally occuring cannabinoid in cannabis, meaning it’s always been there. We just didn’t know about it. It’s NOT a synthetic like THC-O, meaning it’s completely organic. Since it is relatively new, exclusive short term and long term THCP side effects haven’t really been documented. But what we do know, without a doubt, is the effects of THCP are essentially identical to THC with a little added horsepower. In other words, please don’t take this compound lightly and use caution.
We expect more research within the coming years about even more cannabinoids that haven’t been discovered. Yet. Those of us here at Open Leaf CBD can’t wait to see what they will come up with next!
