Edibles vs. Smoking Cannabis

With so many cannabis products out in stores, many people don’t know what to choose from. There are edibles and vapes of many different kinds of many different flavors. Trying to decide what is best for you can be a struggle but you won’t know until you try it. If you are a heavy user it may take more of either product for you to get the effect you are looking for. Each product has two different tolerances, and their effects are different. If you are someone that enjoys smoking, then edibles may not be for you. The only difference between the two is you eat one and smoke the other.

Edibles are anything that is infused with cannabis such as food and drinks. Eating an edible takes longer for you to get the effect due to it having to go through your digestive system, your liver, and then into your bloodstream and brain. It can take an edible 1-2 hours to take effect. Once the feeling hits you will feel it for 6-8 hours. The upside to an edible it can help people with a poor appetite, pain, weight loss for people with cancer, nausea, help enhance sleep, etc. The upper hand of having an edible is it can be discreet. You don’t have to worry about the smell of smoke being you. When you eat an edible, it is easy to ingest too much due to it taking some time for you to feel it. That is why you take a certain amount and give it time to take effect.

When you vape, it goes to the lungs and is immediately absorbed in your bloodstream which goes to your brain. It takes effect within seconds but the effects only last for 2-3 hours. There are different ways to smoke. You can roll it, put it in a pipe, smoke a disposable, use a hookah, or use a vape cart. When you smoke, the smoke is absorbed in organs and tissues that go to the brain and fatty cells. When someone enjoys smoking, they are less likely to eat an edible. Smoking marijuana does have its benefits such as stress relief, feeling better overall, relaxation, etc.

It is really up to the individual what they choose to consume. Everyone is different and what works for one may not work for the next person. Whether you decide to ingest or smoke a product you will have an experience with either one. If you have never used a product, start off with a low dose. Both products have THC in them so whichever you choose to do, do it responsibly.
