How can CBD be beneficial to someone with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)?

CBD, cannabidiol, is the chemical compound that is found in cannabis and is mostly extracted from the hemp plant but can be taken from the marijuana plant. When CBD is taken from either plant it does have small traces of THC in it, but when taken from the marijuana plant it may have more THC in it. CBD is used to treat a variety of conditions as a natural treatment. It can be taken as a tincture, gummy, capsule, oil, and lotion/creams. CBD will not get you high, but it can be used for a variety of things such as physical and mental issues, pain, nausea, addictions, depression, migraines, anxiety, decreases seizures, is an anti-inflammatory, helps with insomnia, psychosis, increases appetite, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease which means your immune system attacks your joints which is causing the inflammation. This affects ones hands and feet by damaging the tissue which is causing the painful and swollen joints. Not only does RA affect your hands and feet but it can also affect other tissues such as your lungs, heart, and eyes. When your immune system is not working properly, it attacks the lining of your joints. There are four stages of RA and treatments by medication or infusions to help you with the daily struggles of this disease.

CBD oil interacts with your CB1 and CB2 receptors to reduce the pain and inflammation. CB2 plays a role in your immune system. RA is involved with your immune system and attacks the tissues in you joints. Adding CBD to your daily routine can help you get through the day.  Inflammation causes pain which causes you to hurt and be miserable. CBD is not only great for your over all health but CBD will help to reduce the inflammation in your body. With reducing the inflammation in your body, the less aches and pains you are likely to have. CBD has been shown to work as an anti-inflammatory and in treatments its been found to be effective in 36% of people that tried it. People that have tried CBD for treatment of RA did report pain relief, better sleep, and it reduced their anxiety. There was a nation wide survey of 2,600 people and 79% of them said they have been using CBD for arthritis.
